Blaise Hazelwood, has led and managed political operations, high-profile grassroots programs and political campaigns. She is recognized for leading the development and implementation of the 72 Hour Program, which is credited with revolutionizing the Get Out the Vote efforts. She served as Political Director at the RNC in 2002 and 2004, spearheading their successful online Team Leader program and the construction of Voter Vault, the RNC’s voter file database. She went on to serve as the Director of Media and Political operations for the NRSC during the 2006 cycle. She is also the president of Grassroots Targeting, LLC, one of the nation’s premier microtargeting companies.

Brian Lyle has been working in technology for over ten years. He has recently worked as the eCampaign Director for the NRSC. And he has also served as the Deputy Director for the RNC’s Team Leader online program in the 2004 election cycle. He designed and managed one of the “Top 5 Mold Breaking Websites” of the 2002 election cycle according to Campaigns and Elections magazine.

Eventful’s Online Tools Engage and Inform Political Campaign Supporters

One of the most difficult aspects of a campaign is a public calendar, even more so a calendar online. A great tool we utilize is Eventful. Eventful makes it easy to organize a political calendar in a social network setting. Your event feed can be turned into a widget that is easily plugged into you website. Several of our clients use Eventful and have had great success.

Mass Email: Long vs Short

Patrick Ruffini has great analysis of the length of fundraising emails between McCain, Obama, and Hillary. I always stress that “short and sweet” emails can be more effective. A blast email is similar to the front page of a newspaper. The headline (subject line) has to be attention grabbing. The most important part of the email must be “above the fold,” and links must be at the top. Also, the content must be interesting and relevant to the reader.
