Update: While the website just launched today, we have plans to continue to add much needed grassroots action functionality. Keep a look out for new features over the coming weeks. As the election date draws closer, the website’s mobilization efforts will increase.

Congressman Bobby Jindal is campaigning to be the next Governor of Louisiana. Today we launched his website www.bobbyjindal.com. He is using technology to bring his message to his supporters. His online program uses effective communications, grassroots actions and social networking tools to keep supporters engaged in his campaign.

Starting with the navigation: "Bobby" is the interactive bio section, complete with Bobby growing up, Bobby's experience and Bobby today.

The "Issues" section shows how Bobby plans to give Louisiana a fresh start, you can learn his positions on Improving Healthcare, Reforming Government, and others. Viewing the "Coalitions" allows you to see where Bobby stands with Sportsmen, Farmers, and Veterans.

The "Newsroom" is the location of all the latest content from Press Releases, to News Articles and Video.

Bobby's "Blog" is complete with a blogroll, social bookmarking tools for Digg, Del.icio.us, and Technorati. You can easily search the blog archives by date and category.

When you "Join the Team" you can easily sign-up for text messaging alerts, join a coalition, add your affiliation or do the most important thing of all, volunteer. An added bonus, you can easily endorse Bobby without having to re-type your contact information.

Once you have an account you can login to perform online grassroots actions on behalf of the campaign. For each action you complete, you earn "Bobby Bucks." These are redeemable for gear at the Online Store coming in May.

You can earn 1 Bobby Buck per dollar you donate to the campaign. You can add your name to the long list of Bobby's Buddies by endorsing him publicly online.

Let the media know where you stand and why you think Louisiana needs Bobby. Or call into talk radio and make your voice heard. Both worth 10 Bobby Bucks each.

Recruit your friends and family and earn 5 Bobby Bucks. Ask them to donate to Bobby's campaign and earn another 5.

There is a Top 10 leader board to add some friendly competition.

Bobby understands to need to connect to his supporters online. This is illustrated in the social networking section on the homepage. There are links to MySpace, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr profiles, tying all of this new media content together and bringing it to where his supporters are.

It helps that Bobby knows why he is running for Governor. That he knows where he stands on issues. And knows what it takes to make Louisiana recover and thrive.

A Democrat complimented Bobby’s site (btw – thank you). And said “is that really Bobby blogging?” Huh. I obviously did not get my blog out in a timely manner. Refer back to graph #2.

For those of you who don’t know Bobby Jindal – he is a genius. Actually, I don’t know what his IQ is but maybe like my new Democrat friend if you read his blogs you will get what I am saying.

Don’t mean to be giving you a sales job - it is just that I am pretty passionate about Bobby Jindal’s campaign for Governor.

Bobby Jindal obviously understands the power of the web. And he has always understood the importance of Grassroots activists and what they accomplish both on and off line. This makes our job so much easier. And so much fun.

As Brian talked about in his blog, there is a going to be a plethora of grassroots tools on bobbyjindal.com. Bobby’s team is going to be massive…unlike anything Louisiana has seen.

Another thing about Bobby Jindal (yes… I am almost done bragging on him) is his team. He has assembled quality people. And good people. Timmy Teepell, Bobby’s Campaign Manager, is one of the best grassroots organizers in the country. He helped create the 72 Hour Task Force. And he understands message as a means of motivation.

Bottom line is we are going to get a cutting edge online campaign and an old fashioned boots on the ground campaign in Louisiana. With a candidate who has the ideas and intelligence to promote both. We are proud to be a part of the team.
